What we sell - advice
Chrystals Auctions sell most items and can do onsite sales as well
Please contact us before bringing goods in - Chrystals Auctions will
decline items not considered to be of saleable condition or value.
We can't sell
- Foam filled furnishings that are not clearly labelled as conforming to current fire regulations
- Any animal remains / products that may contravene the relevant wildlife acts.This includes many birds eggs, butterflies, post-war ivory and others
- Any controlled item for which the vendor and / or Chrystals Auctions are not licensed
We don't sell
- Conventional cathode ray (tube) televisions are no longer accepted - Only plasma / LCD digital TVs will be sold
- Video recorder / players have no resale value
- Mattresses are generally not accepted unless genuinely in as new condition - Divan beds must be absolutely clean
- Video and cassette tapes - Exceptions may be made for Manx themed and significant originals
- Motorcycle helmets (except vintage / collectable ones, not for road use)
We discourage / decline
- Most printed pictures
- Most 20th century household china tea / dinner services - To have a sale value, such sets must be complete, undamaged and preferably "named"
- Most "coffee-table" books
- "Flat-pack" furniture
- Most Edwardian bedroom furniture
- Most LP and gramaphone records
- Most pianos and organs - Modern electronic keyboards and organs may be considered
- Most office utility furniture
- TV cabinets and stands
We do sell
- Antique furniture - Victorian and earlier, Arts and Crafts school
- Modern furniture in good condition - This does not include most 1970s / 80s items
- LCD / Plasma TVs
- Pine furniture
- White goods in clean, fully working condition
- Coin, stamp and post-card collections
- Militaria, medals and weapons
- Fine Art - well executed oils and watercolours - This does not include most amateur works
- Gold, silver and jewellery
- Quality clocks and watches
- Quality fabrics and clothing
- Quality ornaments, pottery and china
- Manx items and ephemera
- Hand tools, power tools and garden equipment
- Vehicles and bicycles
